Our Past
The dream began July 1, 1985 when Rev. Gary Kidwell was named pastor developer of this new congregation. The first meeting was held at his home under two pine trees. This led to the creation of our congregation, as well as the inspiration for our name, Twin Pines Christian Church. After meeting in several different places, land was purchased on the site where the church stands today.
Our Present
Twin Pines just recently celebrated 20 years of ministry to the Lexington community. We have helped construct over 10 Habitat Homes and given hundreds upon hundreds of pounds of food to God's Pantry. We've shared thousands upon thousands of dollars to help victims of natural disaster. We've cared for many orphaned animals and clothed countless numbers of people. Above all, we preached the gospel to every man, woman, and child who entered our sanctuary. With eagerness we await the ministry opportunities of the next 20 years . . .
Our Future
We don't know what the future holds, but we do know who holds the future. We look to God as we strive to reach our vision of "Building a community of Disciples, Becoming God's Hands, and Touching lives through Christ." We know that if we can accomplish our mission of "loving, serving, growing, and sharing" that our vision will be complete. We also know that the more people who share this vision and work on this mission, the greater will be the love of God in this world. We invite you to join us as we nurture our spirits, grow our ministries, expand our facilities, and so, extend our reach of God's love into the Lexington community.
